| | The Reindeer Section-You Are My Joy | ] | There are several things that I find amazing at the moment, and I felt the urge to share them with you on this, the eve of the Day of Valentine's:
Things that kick ass:
One: Figure skating. Specifically today pairs figure skating at the olympics. More specifically this pair from China that just got the bronze medal, even though when they were doing one of their moves the girl fell onto her knee, stopped for a minute, and then continued in one of the most beautiful programs that I've seen the whole competition. I mean, nobody should be able to get up from slamming their knee into a flat surface and finish with no mistakes. Like, woah. And I know what you're thinking: Figure skating? Really Lisa, really? But yes, it kicks ass, and you should watch, expecially tommorow when the guys start, cause they're just fun.
Two: My philosophy class that I hate with an unholy passion just got cancelled, which make me more happy than you will ever possibly know, because again, I hate that class. Like, I like Napoleon Dynamite more than that class, and if that tells you nothing, than you shouldn't be reading this because you're some creepy stranger who knows me not at all.
Three: This little show on TV that I like to call Grey's Anatomy. IT KICKS SO MUCH ASS THE CAPS LOCK IS REALLY NECESSARY TO EXPRESS IT KICK ASSEYNESS AND ISN'T JUST BEING USED TO ANNOY YOU ALL...MOSTLY. :) Everyone needs to watch it on Sunday's at 10 on ABC, because it's my new favorite obsession, especially since my obsession with one of the actors, Patrick Dempsey, is bordering on me and Kait with Johnny Depp obsession territory. But everyone on that show is fucking amazing.
Four: Bruce Springsteen. I am now singing that man's praises, and if you didn't see him perform at the Grammy's, you missed something, because it was great. And download his new album, because it's amazing. Album is called Devils and Dust by the way.
Five: If you read this before 1 AM, you shouls watch the Daily Show at that time or else at 7PM tommorow, cause over the weekend Dick Cheney "accidently" shot one of his hunting companions in the face on a Texas Rance, and you just know that Stewart is going to have fun with that. And if you already watched it at 11 regulary, you know you should watch it again if you're up anyway.
Things not ass kicking: I have to write a paper discussing whether or not gender effects a monarchs ability to rule, concerning the reigns of Mary and Elizabeth Tudor (and if you people at least don't know who Elizabeth is, I'm hurting you). So you think it would be easy, but I'm having issues, which I'm pretty sure are just a result of me making the three-page paper harder than it should be, but who knows. So yeah, I'll should write that, since it's 12:01 AM, and yeah, it feels like it's about 5 PM to me.
So remember kids, do something fucking nice for yourself because it's fucking Valentine's Day (as of like three fucking minutes ago) and because being fucking nice to yourself on fucking Valentine's Day is what you should fucking do. Kisses!!!! |

| Lil' Jon's rendition of classic Christmas songs. . . |

| | chipper | ] | So this weeked further proved to me that I have an obsession with movies. But at least it's not crack, so hey, less expensive. Friday I went with my cousin and Good Night, and Good Luck, which is a movie that George Clooney did about Edward R. Murrow and the McCarthy trials during the 1950s. It was a really good movie if any of that stuff interests you, or you should see it just because it's neat. So I ran into Latimer while we were there, and so me and Shelly stuck into Narnia after the first movie cause he said we could, and that was really good. So now I want to read all seven of those books, and then get anxious for them to make the rest of the movies. On Saturday my mom and I went and did some Christmas shopping, which was scary because people are crazy and there are way too many of them out there this time of year. We went and saw Rent after that, which was very good and freakishly depressing. Plus it was a little awkward watching a movie like that with my mom that had two gay couples, AIDS, and them singing about masturbation, but it was all good. Lol. Then I came home and watched March of the Penguins that I rented and I now want a baby penguin.
My younger brother and I were then sitting out in our family room and randomly started making up songs. So we meshed Lil' Jon's screaming Yeah's and Okay's with Feliz Navidad. I lauged... a lot. And then we made up one about that went like "Take me down to Mexico city where the air is bad and the water is shitty..." that goes with the tune that the original song is from, if that made sense. Needless to say, I am now dropping out of college and becoming a songwriter with my brother. Good times all around with that one. So now I'm going to go watch the Bengals hopefully kick some ass, cause if they lose to the Browns than every good thing they have done this year may just die in my eyes.
Whoday!!!!! |

Anyway, I thought I'd tell you guys that I am going to have my birthday partay here at my house on July 8, which is this Friday, at 7 until whenever you want to leave. I'm going to have hotdogs and all the usual stuff that I always have, so you don't have to bring anything unless you really feel the inclination to. So what I need if for you guys to tell me if you are coming by at least Wednesday so that I know how much food to fix. So comment, call, email, im, tell me when you see me, or send a singing telegram, etc., and let me know if you're coming please (and you know you want to come). Mmmkay then. Bye kids! |

| | Sarah McLachlan-Surfacing | ] | So hey guys. I suddenly realized that I have not seen like any of my friends lately and thought it would be nice to update to say, um, hey, I'm alive. School's finally out. It felt like it was a really short quarter, which was nice because usually spring is like, Oh please God kill me now, and take half the school with you. My classes and professors were all awesome, and I finally changed my major to History, so that makes me feel a little bit better. What am I going to do with that you ask? Fuck it if I know, and when I do figure it out, I'll add any inquiring minds to the list of those who want to know. I am however open to suggestions.
So I guess the crappy part about this summer will be that due to the fact that WSU are money grubbing communist bastards (and Residence Services suck) I couldn't be let out of my lease for summer, which means I have to live up here. It's okay for the fact that I am going to be working up here 8:30 to 5 everyday, but I really wanted to come home. So that basically means that you guys should come visit me a lot. Cause you know, when you're sitting around this summer, telling yourself how bored you are, you can be like "hey, I can go visit Lisa, and not be bored."
I had something else to say in here, but I cannot think of it right now, because that whole I have a sucky memomry thing. I guess I'll just wrap this up by saying that I miss all of you guys and I will see everyone tommorow at Becky's! |

The Ohio House of Representatives has just introduced a bill that would completely ban abortions in the state of Ohio. So that just pissed me off, and I thought I would share just to inform you and let you know about that. So if they plan any protests (which I'm sure they will) I'll keep you posted, cause someone's got to go with me.
So besides that, have a good day everyone! |

| | Lustra-Scotty Doesn't Know | ] | Some things:
One: I fucking rock because I just downloaded "Scotty Doesn't Know", and am now listening to it in repetition.
Two: I was standing outside of Millet Hall today with my friend Laura, and shew as smoking. So I was wearing flip flops, cause I do that a lot, and I took my right one off for a minute, and all of a sudden I look down and there is a burning hole in the middle of my flip flop from a piece of ash from Laura's cigarette. I was like, holy crap. It didn't go all the way through, but now it feels all weird, and plus we laughed like idiots for like twenty minutes while people looked at us in a funny way. It was awesome. I'm thinking about somehow getting a picture of the flip flop and posting it online, cause that'd be sweet. Maybe that should be my facebook picture...
Three: There is an exhibit down at the Cincinnati Museum Center (the fun one with the Omnimax)on the Romanav's, who for all of you non-history lovers (freaks) out there, were the last royal family of Russia before they were all murdered. It's the whole Anastasia story, if that rings any bells (think Disney movie). Anyway, it runs through May 1, and I was wondering if any one would be interested in going. Would I go by myself, sure. Would I like someone to come with me, yes. SO if anyone wants to go, just say something to me.
Fourth: My Great Books teacher is the fucking man, cause not only is he funny, but today he referenced The Daily Show, specifically Lewis Black, when we were talking about satire. It was sweet.
Fifth: Classes are going well. I'm taking History 212, Civil War-Present; History 102, 1400-1800's; Geology 107, The earth and human affairs, with this cute little old guy professor who I just want to pinch he's so cute; and English 204, Great Books Literature. So far everything's going well (it's amazing how easy that is to say after only three days), but there's going to be a shitload of reading this quarter, but minimal writing, which is awesome, because I hate to write. It's also interesting, at least for me, because this is the first quarter that I've had all male professors, and one of them is cute. Lol.
So good luck my UC buddies with your final quarter, my Kaitlin with another quarter as well (Rock n' Roll sounds sweet), my Miami freaks with five weeks (or something close to that) left, Sarah, who will soon be done with UMD, and Allie, who should come to school with us so you're not so lonely. And Ryan, call one of us so we know you're alive. And Becky, you're almost done (repeat that often, with some drugs. It should help).
And here's lesson we should all take to heart children: Caffeine is God's gift to college students.:) |
